Design and Concept Development

The initial and most exciting part of any project is the conception of the driving theoretical principals and design concept. When used correctly, these principals allow for projects to have a deeper sense of meaning and challenge the normative position of what architecture stands for. Clients benefit from this process, as it is situational and unique for every context. This is a 'one of a kind approach' and a deeply personal solution is formed.

Model Building

These models are more for communication of an idea or theoretical principal as they explore different spatial qualities, material choice and form. They also help break down a complex concept into more manageable visual objects. The role of these models is allow an outsider to view a thought process and interact with it in a real and tactile manner.

Contract Documentation and Detailing

The most important part of architecture is its technical aspect, that being said I keep up to date with the SANS and NBR regulations and involve them in key early design decisions. Material science and knowledge is one of my passions, as well as, working out construction details. My strength in this field is that I conceptualise and think in the third dimension and then translate it into two dimensional plans and sections.

BIM, Rendering and Presentation

The art of selling or communicating an idea through the use of photo realistic renders, emotive sketches, mood boards and clear presentation. These can be presented as art boards or as a fully fleshed out interactive model that the client can be walked through using 3d software applications.
